ICC (International Conservation Center) - Bull Barn

10,000 sf. solid masonry construction facility built to house Bull elephants to be used as a breeding facility.

Jackson retired from the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Acquarium to ICC (International Conservation Center) Bull Barn in Somerset, PA, December 2008.  Jackson is the first elephant at the conservation center.  Spring 2009, the zoo plans to have two females join him from the Philadelphia zoo.  Eventually, the zoo hopes to breed Jackson with the two females.  Since male African elephants are solitary in the wild, Jackson should appreciate the quiet space he now calls home.
